Country Club of Detroit is a private club in Grosse Pointe Farms founded in 1897. Originally designed by Bert Way and redesigned by H.S. Colt and Charles Alison in 1912, with a 1952 Robert Trent Jones Sr. renovation and a 2011 Tom Doak restoration of the Colt/Alison design, the 18-hole championship course plays to 7,100 yards at a par of 72. It has twice hosted the U.S. Amateur (1915 and 1954, the latter won by Arnold Palmer).
